Houses burgled

Special Correspondent

TAMBARAM: Gold jewellery, cash, electronic goods and a two-wheeler were found missing from three houses in Nandambakkam on Saturday night.

Police said the burglars first struck at the house of Selvarani, a State government employee on Ganapathypuram First Street, from where they took away jewels weighing about 15 sovereigns and some cash. A house belonging to Arun, a carpenter, on a neighbouring street in the same locality was also targeted. Jewels weighing seven sovereigns and some electronic items and a wrist watch were stolen.

The burglars then went to the house of Mohanbabu, a welder, from where they stole his motorcycle and fled. These incidents took place within a short span of time in Ganapathypuram.
