58 booked for not wearing helmets

Tuticorin: The police have booked as many as 37 persons for driving vehicles with dazzling lights and 58 two wheeler riders for not wearing helmets, during a two-day drive in the district ending in the early hours of Sunday.

Official sources said that of the cases for using dazzling lights, nine were registered in Tuticorin, seven each at Maniyachi and Vilathikulam, five at Tiruchendur, four at Sattankulam, three at Kovilpatti and remaining at Srivaikundam. Of the 58 riders booked for not wearing helmets, 19 were registered in Tuticorin, 15 at Tiruchendur, eight at Sattankulam, five at Srivaikundam, two each at Maniyachi and Vilathikulam and remaining at Kovilpatti.
