It will allow 2.3 lakh aspirants to know about their admission status BANGALORE: The countdown will be over on Tuesday for over 2.3 lakh management seat aspirants who appeared for CAT-2007 for admission to the seven Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) besides a 100 other B-schools of repute. For the first time students will be spared the prolonged anxiety and confusion of having to check different websites to know their admission status. Students can log on to www.iimcat.in at 3 p.m. on that day. Score cards can be accessed by keying in the test registration number and the student’s date of birth (preferred) or their CAT application number. The list of candidates selected for group discussion and interview stage for IIMs at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow and Shillong will also be displayed. However, further details of the date and venue will be sent by post and will be available on the individual IIM websites within a couple of days. The website is comprehensive and easy to access. “Earlier, the process was cumbersome and students had to check individual sites. There are times when the server, which is obviously not used to taking the load, has crashed and students had to wait till 2 a.m. for their results,” said Ajay Arora, Triumphant Institute of Management Education. SMSThe website mentions that these scores can be obtained telephonically through the IVRS or by sending an SMS to 57333. To access the results through SMS, the candidate should send an SMS to 57333 as follows: “CAT space registration number space date of birth (dd/mm/yy)” or “CAT space registration number space application number”. About 20,000 students from the State appeared for the examination, in 20 centres across the city. “Other institutes which consider the CAT score for the admission process will put up their individual lists within 15 days after the CAT scored are declared,” Mr. Arora said.
