Bharat Nirman campaign from February 3

NAMAKKAL: The Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will organise a five-day Bharat Nirman Public Information Campaign and Exhibition at Kolli Hills from February 3 to 7 to highlight various Central and State Government schemes.

Focus

Disclosing this at a meeting held here recently, Collector G. Sundaramurthi said that special focus would be given for the Right to Information Act and National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme during the event, to be organised through the Press Information Bureau, Chennai.

The exhibition would be conducted at the Valvil Ori Maidan at Semmedu. Central and State Government departments, non-governmental organisations, voluntary organisations and self-help groups would establish stalls in the exhibition.

State Government departments, including employment, tourism, adi dravidar and tribal welfare, health, cooperative, social welfare and animal husbandry would participate.

Participants

The district rural development agency, Mahalir Thittam, Indo-US project for child labour abolition, Valarkalvi project, Integrated Child Development Scheme, several banks, Life Insurance Corporation of India would also participate and explain various schemes.

Cultural programmes including music, dance and dramas would held at the exhibition venue on every day. SHG members would also conduct cultural programmes. Field Publicity Director BK Vetriselvan also spoke.

Senior officials were also present in the meeting.
