390 petitions received

ARIYALUR: A total of 390 petitions from the public during the weekly grievances day meeting held here on Monday. The Collector, V. M. Xavier Chrisso Nayagam, presided over the meeting.

A majority of the petitions pertained to old age pension, financial assistance for the handicapped, compensation for the loss of property in the recent rainfall, education loan, road and drinking water facility, etc.

All the petitions were forwarded to the departments concerned for quick action, an official press release said.
