TIRUPATI: The Chittoor district unit of the CPI (M) has pooh-poohed Chief Minister Rajasekhar Reddy’s announcement that 2008 would be celebrated as the year of ‘employment’ (upadi). It has given a call to its rank and file to observe the period as the year of ‘agitations’. The Government is going astray and all its programmes are fraught with corruption with benefits-especially the lands- going to the industrial houses developing SEZs, Congress henchmen and wealthy sections, but not the poor, said K. Kumar Reddy, CPI (M) district secretary addressing a party workshop here on Sunday.
