Fasting couple shifted to hospital

BERHAMPUR: Bijay Pradhan and his wife, who were on hunger strike for five days in front of the office of the Commercial Tax Department at Bhanjanagar, were forcibly admitted at local hospital by the police as their condition deteriorated.

Mr. Pradhan was serving as a temporary driver in the department for the last 12 years. Recently, the department decided to have another driver in his place, which prompted them to sit in strike.
