Interim bail granted

NEW DELHI: One of the accused in the Shivani Bhatnagar murder case, Satya Prakash, was granted interim bail by a court here on Monday.

Additional Sessions Judge Rajendra Kumar Shastri granted bail to Satya Prakash till January 25 after considering his petition in which he had said his presence was needed at the rituals following the death of one of his relatives. The court granted the interim bail upon the accused furnishing a bail bond of Rs.1 lakh and a surety of like amount. The court observed that the accused had the right to observe his social duties.

Satya Prakash is among five persons accused of conspiring and killing Indian Express journalist Shivani Bhatnagar in January 1999.
