A pat for Haryana

CHANDIGARH: Haryana has been rated in “Very Good” category throughout the country under all components in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna (PMGSY) under the Bharat Nirman Programme, PWD (B and R) Minister Ajay Singh Yadav announced here on Monday.
He disclosed that the State Government had received Rs. 450 crore under Phase VII projects of the PMGSY. Under this phase, 108 roads had been sanctioned and tenders for 74 roads had already been received and the work been awarded. Mr. Yadav further disclosed that a new e-tendering system had been implemented by the department for procuring all contracts under PMGSY Phase VII.
He said the works under Phase V and VI were near completion and the performance of the State Government on these works had been commended by the Union Ministry for Rural Development. He claimed that the only other State that had been clubbed with Haryana in “Very Good” category was Rajasthan. However, in respect of achievement of physical and financial targets, Haryana’s performance had been rated better than Rajasthan’s.
