Indian lawyers reign
HYDERABAD: India clinched the Lawyers’ Cricket World Cup with a thumping 10-wicket win over Pakistan in the final at the Lal Bahadur Stadium here on Monday.
Excellence awards instituted by M/s. Clifford Chance of UK, were presented.
The awards:
Best batsman and best young cricketer: Abdullah Balal (Pakistan), best bowler: Girija Shanker Mishra (India), Best player: A. D’Silva (Sri Lanka).
The scores: Pakistan 74 (Umer Farooq 20; Girija Shanker Mishra six for 20) lost to India 76 for no loss (Veerender Upadhyay 33 not out, Anurag Srivastav 32 not out).
