Vikramjith wins

HYDERABAD: S. Vikramjith Singh of South Central Railway won the Medikonduri Krishna Murthy memorial State Open chess tournament, conducted by Dronacharya Chess Academy and sponsored by Sreemitra Townships at the Vasavi Club in Khairatabad here on Monday.

The final placings: S. Vikramjith Singh 7, C.R.G. Krishna, M.Y. Raju, Amitpal Singh, P.V.V. Seshu, V. Varun (six points each), 7. K. Karthik Babu 8. T.V.R. Upendra (5.5 pts each).

Under-8 : Boys: Y. Sai Akshay. Girls: H. Tejaswini.

Under-10: Boys: Praneet Surya. Girls: G. Poojitha. Under-12: Boys: Manoj Sainath. Girls: V.S.S. Priya.

Special prizes: Sai Sudarshan, U. Sree Sanketh. Best veteran: Shakeel Ahmed. Best woman: M. Janaki Devi.
