State Bank employee held for fraud
NEW DELHI: A State Bank of India employee has been arrested by the South Delhi police on charges of fraudulently withdrawing money from frozen bank accounts.
Acting on a complaint, the police arrested Shashi Bhushan of East of Kailash for allegedly withdrawing over Rs.4 lakh from frozen bank accounts at the Malviya Nagar branch of the bank.
During interrogation, Shashi purportedly told the police that he had been reeling under a huge debt on account of losses in the share market and thus thought of a plan to withdraw money from frozen accounts. He got debit cards issued against such accounts and withdrew the cash.
