Cane growers demand MSP
Correspondent
VIZIANAGARAM: Andhra Pradesh Sugarcane Growers Association has alleged that management of NCS Sugars Limited at Lachaiahpeta violated the agreement it reached with the government on payment of support price to growers.
As per the agreement the management has to pay the last year’s price of Rs. 1,000 per tonne of sugarcane supplied to the factory but it is willing to pay Rs. 975 per tonne only for the current crushing season, according to association general secretary M. Suryanarayana in a release here on Monday.
He also demanded transportation, loading and unloading charges and transparency in issuing cutting orders to farmers.
