Reliance Power Ltd is newly-floated company by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group Project should be on stream by September 2013, says Director of Reliance Energy Ltd HYDERABAD: Krishnapatnam Ultra Mega Power Project (UMPP) will go on stream much ahead of its schedule. The project will be executed by Reliance Power Ltd, the newly-floated company by the Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG). Lalit Jalan, Director of Reliance Energy Ltd, said here on Monday that the company was committed to completing the project early like it could complete a 600-MW project in Haryana in 25 months as against the scheduled 48 months. The 4,000 MW Krishnapatnam UMPP had already secured 68 clearances from the authorities concerned. Mr. Jalan addressed a press conference in connection with the initial public offering (IPO) of Reliance Power. The Power Finance Corporation (PFC) formed the Coastal Andhra Power Ltd (CPAL) and initially developed the project to expedite obtaining of approvals and clearances. The CAPL had already entered into power purchase agreements with 11 procurers from four States. “We expect that the CAPL will be transferred to Reliance Power by January 30. As per the letter of intent, the project should be on stream by September 2013, 68 months from the date of transfer of CAPL, when the first 800 MW would become operational. The project would have to be fully commissioned by October 2015,” he said.
