Some coffee?: The façade of “Bruno and Kaffa” at Delhi airport. After gorging on Nirula’s “desi” version of chicken burgers and McDonald’s French fries at Delhi airport, air travellers will now get to savour Ethiopian coffee as they wait for their flights to take off. The “true” coffee flavour from the highlands of Kaffa in South Western Ethiopia -- where the locals call it Buno -- has now been made available to passengers at the domestic Terminal 1B of the airport. The new coffee lounge, called “Buno and Kaffa”, has been treating passengers to not just freshly-brewed coffee but also a wide range of sandwiches, croissants and quiches. Buno and Kaffa is the latest in the series of food and beverage outlets that Delhi International Airport (Private) has introduced at the airport over the past 18 months. Recently fast food chain McDonald’s set up shop at Terminal 1A along with Nirula’s at Terminal 1B. For those who relish Chinese cuisine, Yo-China has been serving dumplings and noodles, while health freaks are often spotted digging into sandwiches and foot-longs at the Submarine outlets. Baskin Robbins’ ice creams at Terminal 1A are a big hit with one and all. “At Terminal 1B extension, created specially for the winter season, special outlets of Nirula’s, Yo-China, Nescafe and Mr. Orange have been opened for the benefit of waiting passengers,” said a DIAL spokesperson. “These outlets are part of our strategy to provide passengers with a wide variety of food and beverage options at the airport. DIAL is also planning to open several more such outlets in near future. These would be a mix of kiosk, takeaway, sit-down and fine dining restaurants catering to all palettes and wallets,” the spokesperson added. Parul Sharma
