VIZIaNAGARAM: Municipal Chairperson M. Geetha has asked house owners to regularise constructions and also unapproved and illegal layouts as per the GO Ms No. 901 and 902 within the stipulated time. Speaking at the awareness meeting conducted at Municipal Office on deviation and penalisation of unauthorised constructions on Monday, she said all constructions made between 1985 and December 15, 2007 come under the order. The owners, barring those who built houses in below 100 square yards, must apply for regularisation before February 28. The violations if limited to 30 per cent must pay Rs. 30 per square yard and Rs 50 square yard over and above it. Apartments and group houses, if the violation is below 1000 sq. yds, must pay a penal amount of Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 15,000 over it. An amount of Rs. 50 per sq.yd would be collected for constructions that were built without approved plan. An additional tax of 25 per cent would be imposed if any one were unwilling to regularise the unauthorised constructions, she said and added that Sub-Registrars would be instructed to stop sale and purchase transactions in future. Town Planning Officer Prabhakar Rao, building inspectors and councillors were present.
