Omkar ashram hearing adjourned

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court on Tuesday adjourned further hearing on a criminal petition by Sri Madhusudhanapuri Swamiji of Omkar Ashrama Mahasamasthana, Bangalore.

This is the second time that the swami has petitioned the High Court against the appointment of a (Government) Receiver for taking control of the affairs of the ashram.

The swami said he had several months ago filed a petition before the High Court challenging the appointment of the Bangalore South tahsildar as Official Receiver. The court had allowed his petition. Yet, on November 5, 2007, the Assistant Commissioner (Bangalore South) once again appointed the Bangalore South tahsildar as the Receiver of the ashram located on Omkar Hills, Srinivasapura.

Justice K. Bhakthavatsala adjourned further hearing on the case.
