13 persons submit petition seeking TI The order was issued on Saturday Udupi: Legal advisor to Nagarjuna Virodhi Horata Samiti Pradeep Kumar said on Tuesday that the Principal Civil Judge (Junior Division) has issued a temporary injunction (TI) order against Nagarjuna Power Corporation Ltd. (NPCL) “restraining it from carrying on construction activities, digging earth, blasting of rocks in its project area (industrial area) in Yellur village between 6 p.m. and 7 a.m., and from committing any acts of nuisance in its project area.” Addressing presspersons here, Mr. Kumar said that the order would be in force till the next hearing, which is on January 16. The court issued the order after 13 persons of Yellur village submitted a petition in this regard to it (the court). The order was issued on January 5, he said. The former President of Yellur Gram Panchayat, Yashwanth Shetty, said that a delegation comprising MP Manorama Madhwaraj, the former MLA, Lalaji Mendan, and presidents of six gram panchayats of Yellur, Hejmady, Mudrangady, Palimar, Padubidri and Yermal, would meet Governor Rameshwar Thakur in Bangalore, under the leadership of honorary president of Nandikur Janajagriti Samiti Balakrishna Shetty. They would present the actual facts of the project to the Governor, he said.
