Government told to consider suggestion

Kochi: A Division Bench of the Kerala High Court on Tuesday directed the State government and other respondents to look into a suggestion to get a performance guarantee executed by Public Works Department (PWD) contractors while awarding road repair contracts for specific periods.

The Bench, comprising Justice K. Balakrishnan Nair and Justice P.N. Ravindran, directed that the suggestion be considered and a decision taken within three months in consultation with those interested in the subject.

A Bench comprising Justice P.R. Raman and Justice V.K. Mohanan on Tuesday adjourned by a month the hearing on a report of the Paripoornan Commission on the affairs of the Travancore Devaswom Board.

The Bench adjourned the hearing to enable the parties concerned to file their statements in response to the report.

The court asked the parties concerned to file their statements in a month.
