Delhi to protest Veragi’s action

INDORE: Delhi is set to file an official protest with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) over the bowling action of Baroda medium pacer Salim Yusuf Veragi.

Sunil Dev, Sports Secretary of the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), said at the conclusion of the Delhi-Baroda Ranji Trophy semifinals here on Tuesday that he would be writing to the Board and bring to its notice the questionable action of Veragi who made his debut in the National championship on Saturday.

“I did not protest during the match because I did not want to bring the youngster under added pressure. As a former cricketer, I understand what a debutant is going through in his first game. In this case, he was playing the semifinal of Ranji Trophy. I will be making an official complaint. I want the Board to nip the problem in the bud,” said Dev. — Special Correspondent.
