HYDERABAD: The daylong visit of AICC general secretary Veerappa Moily to the city on Wednesday is likely to spur hectic political activity as leaders of the Telangana and Rayalaseema regions are planning to meet him and put forth their views on the demand for separate statehood. Telangana leaders, who propose to visit New Delhi later this month, are keen to impress upon the AICC leader the need for the party to clear the clouds over the growing demand for the statehood. K. R. Amos, MLC, who has been nominated to liaise with other Congress leaders in the region, said that a delegation would meet Mr. Moily. “A majority of the leaders within the Congress are opposed to constitution of second States Reorganisation Commission,” he added. Party sources say a delegation of party MLAs from Rayalaseema are also likely to meet Mr. Moily. They want the Centre to create a separate Rayalaseema State in the event of Telangana being carved out of AP. Mr. Moily is scheduled to inaugurate a three-day training programme of the AP Youth Congress at KJR gardens here. He will later preside over a meeting of the Administrative Reforms Commission of which he is the Chairman, and proceed to Gandhi Bhavan to address party leaders.
