Transfer of 154 acres for AIIMS approved

BHOPAL: The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has taken important decisions for expansion of education and health facilities and also accorded permission to the Collector of Bhopal to transfer 154 acres of land to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry for establishing a new All-India Institute of Medical Sciences.

The Cabinet, presided over by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, sanctioned Rs.107.45 crore to support creation of 10,691 posts and upgrading of 1990 schools under the State School Education Department.

Besides, 790 posts have been sanctioned for 185 schools of excellence, 883 posts for upgrading 883 primary schools to middle schools, 6,633 posts for upgrading 787 middle schools and 2,405 posts for upgrading 185 high schools to the higher secondary level.

The Cabinet has also decided to upgrade 56 primary health centres to 30-bed community health centres, 50 sub-health centres to primary health centres and establish 16 new sub-health centres. For these centres, 1,446 new posts have been approved.

The Cabinet has also accorded sanction for creating 682 posts for expansion and modernisation of the State Prosecution Directorate.
