DPMA seeks 1,000 acres

HYDERABAD: Minister for Major Industries J. Geeta Reddy has asked the CMD of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) to identify 1,000 acres for small and medium enterprises in the backward districts of the State.

A delegation of Drugs and Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association, under the leadership of A. Venkata Reddy, called on the Minister here on Tuesday and appealed her to allocate land near Ongole in Prakasam district to set up industries. They informed her that they could not afford the price being quoted by the developer of Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City in Visakhapatnam. Besides, the land in the Pharma City was fully occupied.

The association told the Minister that it would constitute a special purpose vehicle for the development of world-class infrastructure and the member-industries were ready to contribute the total project cost and . rehabilitation packages
