DAVANGERE: Farmers staged a protest in front of the office of the Agriculture Department in Harihar on Wednesday, against the alleged apathy of officials with regard to ensuring sufficient supply of fertilizers. They later took out a procession seeking its immediate supply. The protesters alleged that fertilizer was not available in shops, and if not used in time there would be huge crop loss. They said they would chalk out large-scale agitations if action was not taken. Meanwhile, Joint Director of Agriculture Shivamurthappa said fertilizers had been in short supply and claimed that they would be procured soon.
