ADILABAD: Director General of Police (DGP) S.S.P. Yadav on Wednesday said the police was not slow in dealing with terrorism that is currently raising its head in the State. Investigations, he pointed out, needed time. “We are aware of the problem,” he added. Addressing newsmen here after meeting with police officials in the district, Mr. Yadav quoted the adage ‘haste makes waste’ while fielding questions on being slow on the front of terrorism. He assured that the police will do everything to curb this kind of extremism. The DGP asked policemen in Adilabad district to be more accessible to people besides toning up their work. He said backwardness, poverty and ignorance in the district warranted a human approach by the police towards problems of the people. In reply to a question, he said courtesy shown to complainants and others who come seeking help from policemen is a great measure to infuse confidence among the people. He placed a wreath at the police martyrs memorial column at the AR headquarters. Warangal Region Inspector General of Police J. Purna Chandra Rao, Karimnagar Range Deputy Inspector General of Police N. Chandra Mouli and Adilabad Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar were also present.
