Patna: A block agriculture officer in Bihar’s Samastipur district was on Wednesday arrested while accepting a graft of Rs.1,500 from a person. Additional director general of police (vigilance) Neelmani told reporters here on Wednesday that a resident of Shrrepur Gauhar village Vinay Jha complained to bureau headquarters that Khanpur BAO, Anwarul Haque, was demanding Rs.1,500 to provide a certificate of crop damage during last year’s flood. Neelmani said on the basis of complaint lodged by Mr. Jha, the bureau laid a trap and caught Haque red-handed while he was accepting the graft from Mr. Jha.
