KOLAR: A man was injured in an attack by an anti-social element near Vemgal on Wednesday. This one comes on the heels of the attack on the Togataveera Kshatriyas in Bettahosapura village near Vemgal in Kolar taluk in November last. The injured was identified as Venkataramanappa. He was reportedly manhandled by Rajanna, an accused in the November attack. Venkataramanappa, who was a victim of the November attack, was discharged from hospital recently. Rajanna has allegedly threatened the weavers in the village of dire consequences if they did not leave the village. The looms which were destroyed in the attack in November last, are yet to be repaired. Even before peace returned to the village, the recurrence of attack has sent shock waves among the socially disadvantaged section of society. Six people have been arrested in connection with the November attack. And, three of them are out on bail. The villagers are still apprehensive of fresh round of attack and have sought police protection. The alleged failure of the police is also said to be one of the reasons.
