US woman molested in Pushkar

Jaipur: The relative of a priest was on Wednesday arrested in Pushkar town of Ajmer district for allegedly molesting an American woman even as a British tourist accused a guest house owner in Udaipur of raping her.

A police team arrested Satynarayan, the brother-in-law of the priest of Pap-Mochani temple after a 28-year-old woman from Oregan in the US lodged an FIR in Pushkar police station on Wednesday morning, Circle Officer Sangram Singh said over phone.

The woman, who is on pilgrimage to the lake town, alleged that the “priest” molested her while she was offering prayers at the temple on Tuesday , he said.

He said Satynarayan had confessed to having molested her and would be put on an identification parade before a judicial magistrate and the woman tourist on Friday, Mr. Singh said.

A British woman has, meanwhile, lodged an FIR at Ambamata police station in Udaipur district that she was raped by the owner of the guest house on December 23. PTI
