MUMBAI: In volatile trading on Wednesday, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex ended flat after setting yet another intra-day high. The 30-share BSE barometer ended on Wednesday at 20869.78 against the close of 20873.33 on Tuesday. The National Stock Exchange index Nifty was also down 15.85 points at 6272.00 against 6287.85. Analysts said the market set a new record on expectations of robust earnings season beginning January 11 when IT bellwether Infosys will announce its third quarter results. Rupee little changed The rupee ended at 39.28/29 against the U.S. dollar on Wednesday in extremely narrow movements in the absence of any worthwhile market moving factor. It closed at 39.27/28 on Tuesday. The Indian unit was trapped in a range of 39.22 and 39.32. — PTI
