Ernakulam men in quarterfinals
KOZHIKODE: Ernakulam, the reigning men’s champion, and Kannur, the women’s champion, entered the quarterfinals of the State youth volleyball championship at Kutyyadi near here.
Kozhikode, Kottayam, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam, Kasaragod, Pathanamthitta and Kannur complete the men’s quarterfinal line-up, while in the women’ section, Thrissur, Pathanamthitta, Kozhikdoe, Wayanad, Ernakulm, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram have made the grade.
The results (preliminary league):
Men: Pool ‘B’: Pathanamthitta bt Kollam 25-16, 25-16, 25-18. Pool ‘C’: Kasaragod bt Alappuzha 25-21, 25-21, 15-25, 28-26. Pool ‘D’: Kottyayam bt Palakkad 25-17, 25-10, 25-13
Women: Pool ‘C’: Pathanamthitta bt Kottayam 25-5, 25-9, 25-12.
