Budding painters: Streetchildren participating in the art camp at Kalakriti on Wednesday. — Hyderabad: They created heaven on canvas. Most of them held a paint brush for the first time and let their imagination run wild. Thirty under privileged children from government schools in the city attended a painting workshop that was organised by AIESEC as part of their annual Balakalakar event on Wednesday evening. White papers came alive with picture perfect sceneries as young painters dipped their brushes in paint and water. But one could never imagine that for most of these children, it was their first tryst with painting. “I have learnt a lot about paints. I learnt to mix them and also how to handle paint brushes,” says a beaming Sandeep Kumar, a student of Government High School at Banjara Hills. The children were under guidance of seasoned artists who were in the vicinity. “We asked the children to paint whatever they liked,” says Wilson D’Souza, a professional painter from Goa.
