Open inquiry

Joint Collector and additional district magistrate S. Suresh Kumar will conduct an open inquiry into the causes of death in the stampede that occurred in Kanaka Durga temple atop Indrakeeladri, on the final day of Bhawani deeksha on January 3. The open enquiry will be conducted in Sub-Collector’s office in Vijayawada at 12 noon.

The move follows the orders issued by the district magistrate, Krishna district, for a magisterial inquiry into the circumstances that led to the tragic deaths.
