HYDERABAD: The strong message about the constitution of second States Reorganisation Commission (SRC) has dampened the spirits of the Telangana Congress leaders. The visibly dispirited Telangana Congress leaders perceive that the decision to constitute SRC would give an edge to the Telangana Rashtra Samiti. A delegation of senior Congress leaders led by APSRTC chairman M. Satyanarayana Rao called on the AICC general secretary M. Veerappa Moily on Wednesday night and pleaded that the party high command reconsider its decision to constitute second SRC. Emerging from the meeting, Mr. Satyanarayana Rao said: “We explained the ground realities and the strong sentiment for Telangana.” MLC B. Kamalakar Rao told reporters that Mr. Moily had promised to convey their feelings to AICC president Sonia Gandhi. “The high command may take a decision within two months,” he said and added that the Congress leaders would continue to raise their concern for the statehood. MLC Palvai Goverdhan Reddy said the Telangana leaders would visit New Delhi and put forth their views to the party president. Former Chief Minister N. Janardhan Reddy, Ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah and K.Ramakrishna, APCC president G.S. Rao, Advisor to CM (Public affairs) K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, MLC K. Bapiraju and others met Mr. Moily.
