Spurt in Salem Steel’s April-Dec. output

CHENNAI: Salem Steel Plant produced 1.72 lakh tonnes of saleable steel during April – December 2007 against 1.46 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period in the previous year. Carbon steel registered a growth of 31 per cent at Rs. 1.29 lakh tonnes. The capacity utilisation of 131 per cent was achieved in saleable steel. — Corporate Reporter
