Reality-show fans curse the blackout

The half-an-hour load-shedding has emerged as a villain torpedoing people’s desire to watch their favourite television shows.

Ardent fans of television reality shows are disturbed. They miss the “suspense” (some guests on shows prolong the suspense to such an extent that one is tempted to reach for the remote) that go with the announcements of which contestants a re “in” and “out” of the show.

The load-shedding from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m. is from January 2 and is expected to continue till Sunday. This is the time when many popular programmes are aired. Repeat telecast of these programmes will not help all.

But people in some areas of Kozhikode city thank god, and, of course, the Kerala State Electricity Board, as there had been no load-shedding in their localities for last two or three days. They could watch their favourite shows. The reason for not switching off power supply is not known.

Reality-show fans pray that whatever be the reason, they should be able to watch their favourite programmes unhindered.
