BANGALORE: The ongoing issue of the alleged denying of Group ‘D’ jobs to Kannadigas by the Railways has reverberated at the “Yuva Sansath,” a mock parliament competition, being held here. The issue was raised when the “Yuva Sansath” took up question hour in the presence of the adviser to the Governor P.K.H. Tarakan, MLC ‘Mukhyamantri’ Chandru and the senior officials of the Department of Law and Parliamentary Affairs and the Department of Public Instructions, the organisers of the event, on Thursday. The issue was debated by high school students amid drama, emotion, argument, counter argument and applaud. Although the basic question was about the ongoing issue, the “opposition” and “ruling” members of the sansath touched upon other issues related to “Kannada, Kannadigas and Karnataka,” in a balanced way. Even the audience applauded when the “opposition” asked “whether the Union Government has recognised Karnataka, its problems, its people and language.” The “Yuva Sansath”, being held here, is scheduled to deliberate on various local, national and international issues. It will conclude on Friday.
