Bank loans sanctioned to women trainees

Rs. 9 lakh disbursed to set up browsing centres

Krishnagiri: The month-long Rural Entrepreneur Development Programme (REDP) on computer training to 20 women trainees conducted by CDS, Hosur, in association with NABARD, Krishnagiri, concluded with distribution of certificates to the trainees. Of the 20 participants, 18 were sanctioned bank loan of Rs. 50,000 each totalling Rs. 9 lakh by Pallavan Grama Bank, Hosur, to enable the participants to purchase computers and other accessories to set up browsing centres.

The Assistant General Manager, NABARD, V. Thirumalai, exhorted the trainees to work with dedication. As Hosur is located near Bangalore, it offers immense opportunities for the service sector. Three special economic zones (SEZs) were expected to come up in and around Hosur and the scenario was expected to change and throw up opportunities for entrepreneurs.

Computers

As the programme had turned out to be a success, one more training programme in computers will be organised by CDS, Hosur, shortly under REDP.

The Chairman, Pallavan Grama Bank, asked the trainees to work towards eradication of illiteracy. Pallavan Grama Bank, Hosur, gave sanction letters in respect of 21 revolving fund loans amounting to Rs. 8.40 lakh and economic activity to Renuka Mahalir Sangam, Sanamangalam, with bank loan of Rs. 5 lakh and subsidy of Rs. 1.25 lakh to the beneficiaries during the function.

Awareness programme

Awareness programmes for SHG members affiliated to Community Development Society (CDS), Hosur, commenced on Tuesday.

About 200 SHG members would be trained on various aspects of bookkeeping, time management, group dynamics, and availing loan assistance from banks.

The programme was inaugurated at Sericulture Training Institute, Hosur.

Asokan, Manager, Pallavan Grama Bank, Hosur and Murugan, Director, CDS, Hosur took part.
