Protest against Centre

Correspondent

CHAMARAJANAGAR: Members of Kannada Chaluvali Vatal Paksha led by party president Vatal Nagaraj took out a procession here on Thursday urging the Union Government to fulfil the demands of Kannadigas.

They blocked the national highway here for 30 minutes. Addressing the protestors, Mr. Nagaraj alleged that the Union Government had failed to accord classical language tag to Kannada despite several pleas. He urged the Government to implement the reports of the Nanjundappa and Sarojini Mahishi committees. He said a State-wide railway bandh would be observed on January 27 urging the Centre to fulfil the demands of Kannadigas.
