Kite-flyers cautioned

HYDERABAD: A.P. Central Power Distribution Company of Limited (APCPDCL) has issued several safety measures to be followed while flying kites during this Sankranti festival.

Children and youth were instructed to avoid climbing electricity poles, touching live-wires while removing kites entangled in wires and hitting electricity poles with iron rods or bamboo sticks to prevent electric shocks and snapping of conductors. Those flying kites from rooftops and half constructed walls should be careful , lest they fall from the top and in the process snap electricity lines as well. Broken pieces of kite sticks which get entangled in the electricity lines cause interruptions in power supply.
