University ties up with Artech Infosystems

Centre will provide bachelors and masters degrees

JAIPUR: The all-women Banasthali Vidyapeeth in Tonk district of Rajasthan has tied up with Artech Infosystems Pvt. Ltd. to impart latest information technology education to students. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje inaugurated the centre, built at an estimated cost of Rs.1 crore, at Banasthali on Wednesday in the presence of State Assembly Speaker and Banasthali alumnus Sumitra Singh.

The centre, Artech-Dalmia Centre for Information Technology, will provide Bachelors and Masters degrees in IT and help in computerising the departments of the Vidyapeeth. The centre, to be run by the IT faculty of the Vidyapeeth, is expected to provide the “right blend of high academic and technological expertise along with entrepreneurial attitude”.

“Such initiatives will further strengthen our commitment to encourage IT education among women and create an environment which is conducive for growth,” said Ms. Raje said addressing the students, faculty and a large number of local people.

“IT companies are now making a beeline to Rajasthan, especially to Jaipur,” she said.

Ms. Raje, who appreciated the high standards of teaching maintained by the Vidyapeeth, said it was lucky for any girl to be a student there.

“Artech is especially happy about tying up with Banasthali as the company is headed by a woman entrepreneur, Rajani Podar, and the institution is a women’s university,” said Ajay Podar, managing director of Artech Infosystems, adding, “Women throughout India will now have the foundation giving them an equal footing in the IT arena.”

“The partnership between two women-centric organisations will go a long way towards achieving goals of excellence,” said Artech India chairman M. H. Dalmia.

The centre is equipped with the latest technological aids to impart better and faster education such as internally networked specialised computer laboratories, communication lab, software engineering lab, VLSI design lab and multi-media laboratory.
