Strict security: Policemen on patrol after students’ agitation in Jind on Thursday. CHANDIGARH: At least seven school children were injured in Jind on Thursday after police resorted to cane charge and even fired shots in the air to disperse agitating students who reportedly went on the rampage and set a few vehicles afire. DC injuredJind Deputy Commissioner Yudhvir Singh was also injured in the alleged brick-batting by the students after a Class XI student was allegedly crushed to death by a truck, reports reaching the State headquarters here said. While denying any “police firing”, sources said the situation was under control.
