PUDUKOTTAI: ‘Maanthalir,’ ‘Poonthalir,’ ‘Marudham,’ if these poetical names lead you nowhere, visit ‘Mukkani,’ the Cooptex showroom here to know about these.
Silk and cotton saris at the showroom are tagged with fancy names of these ilk at the Pongal special rebate sale, which is on from Thursday. A wide variety of saris, cotton salwars are on display with discount tags ranging from 20 per cent to 60 per cent. The discounts are in addition to the flat 30 per cent discount the government has offered.
Having exceeded the Pongal sales target last year, the two Co-optex show rooms in Pudukottai district, including the one at Aranthangi, have fixed Rs.16 lakh as this year’s target.
“Showrooms at six districts in this zone have begun their Pongal rebate sale. Formal and readymade wear for men and women are the new arrivals,” the Regional Manager of Co-optex, Thanjavur Zone, C. Selvaraj said. Collector D. Uthirakkumaran inaugurated the sale.
The sale is on from 9.30 a.m. to 9 p.m. till January 31.
