JAIPUR: A Congress legislator in Rajasthan has accused Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje of violating Article 164 (1A) of the Constitution by inducting more than the stipulated number of members in her Council of Ministers in the recent Cabinet expansion in the State. Congress MLA Sanyam Lodha on Thursday said that after the latest Cabinet expansion, carried out in the last week of December, the strength of the Council of Ministers of the Raje Government crossed the stipulated 30 in a 200-member strong Assembly. According to the 91st Amendment to the Constitution, under Article 164 (1A) the total number of the Council of Ministers in the State Assemblies should not exceed 15 per cent of the strength of the respective Assembly, he pointed out.
