dated January 11, 1958: Non-aggression pact

The British Prime Minister, Mr. Harold Macmillan, speaking at a banquet given in his honour by Prime Minister Nehru on January 10 in New Delhi, emphasised the need for removing from the world the fear of international conflict, which could only result in destruction and devastation. Mr. Nehru welcomed the proposal for a non-aggression pact between rival powers made by Mr. Macmillan and expressed the hope that it would be possible to give effect to it.
