Tiruchi emerges winner
TIRUCHI: Luck favoured Tiruchi as it emerged winner against Kancheepuram by spin of the coin in the two-day semifinal of the TNCA inter-district under-22 cricket tournament here on Thursday.
Tiruchi declared its first innings at 341 for eight. Kancheepuram was 332 for eight at the close of final day’s play.
Since the innings was not completed, spin of the coin method was employed to decide the winner.
The scores: Semifinals: Tiruchi 341 for eight decl. in 99.5 overs (G. Terrance Savio 103, A. Vignesh Naga 91, M.R. Muthupandi 65, A.C. Parthiban three for 39) vs. Kancheepuram 332 for eight in 79 overs (Varun Kumar 154, R. Srinivasan 115, R. Shanmugaraja three for 43, M.R. Muthupandi three for 84).
