Cricket scores over everything

Not only cricket lovers but everyone were pretty disgusted with the happenings in the Sydney Test, especially the appalling decisions by the umpires which clearly benefited the Australian team.

To top it, the racist slur charge against Harbhajan was the last straw on all Indian’s backs.

The boorish behaviour of the Australian players especially Captain Ricky Ponting and his deputy Michael Clarke got all the early morning television viewers here fuming with rage.

These incidents became the hot topic of discussion in offices, hotels, bars, family gatherings, etc., swamping every other issue.

The change of umpires and postponing Bhajji’s ban cooled down the ambers a bit though. But, how many of us know that the journalist who angered Ponting by questioning his double standards in appealing for a bump catch was G. Rajaraman, a Hyderabadi?
