Auto strike today

About 12,000 autorickshaws, out of 75,000, will be off the road on Friday. The drivers of these autorickshaws want the minimum fare to be increased to Rs. 20 and the charge per km be fixed at Rs. 10 a km. While the strike has been called by Autorickshaw Drivers’ Union, the other associations have chosen place their demands before Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore Urban District on January 17.
