Golden Chariot to be launched on March 3

BANGALORE: The first commercial run of Golden Chariot, Karnataka’s luxury train, has been scheduled for March 3, while the trial runs will start from January 22.
Bookings for the train will open in a few days, said Principal Secretary Tourism Department I.M. Vittalamurthy on Thursday.
Sources told The Hindu that the coaches were ready at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai and would arrive in Bangalore shortly.
“Soft furnishing in the coach will be done in five days and we are gearing up for the commercial launch,” an official said.
The final draft of Hampi Master Plan for overall development of the heritage area, including land utilisation, traffic notes and tourism zones would be notified by the end of January, Mr. Vittalamurthy said.
