Newspaper employee attempts suicide at court premises

BANGALORE: An employee of a leading newspaper group attempted suicide by consuming insecticide at the Karnataka High Court premises on Thursday.

The police said that around 4.45 p.m., Anand Rao (38) consumed insecticide near the State Public Prosecutor’s office on the High Court premises. On noticing a convulsing Anand Rao, passers-by informed the staff of a Hoysala police patrol vehicle that was at the High Court compound. The police rushed Anand Rao, a resident of Sultanpalya, to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital. Anand Rao works as a timekeeper in a newspaper office here.
