HYDERABAD: Communist Party of India MP Aziz Pasha has appealed to the people to cooperate in the successful conduct of the party’s 20th national congress being held in the city from March 23 to 27.

Flagging off a scooter rally organised in support of the forthcoming event here on Thursday, he said about 1,000 delegates from across the country and 70 from abroad would participate in the congress that would discuss about crucial issues facing the people and the country. Some of the major issues that figure in the deliberations included Indo-US nuclear deal, implementation of common minimum programme, land reforms and distribution and Sachar Committee recommendations.

The delegates would also discuss about non-aligned movement, war mongering policies of America and achievements of the socialist countries in different sectors. The rally that started from Indira Park culminated into a meeting at APSRTC Kalyana Mandapam passing through Liberty, Himayatnagar and Sundarayya Park en route, according to a press release.
